LEARN MORE ABOUT PARENT TRAINING
EFFECTIVE
PARENTING
WORKSHOPS
Our workshops are based on Systematic Training for Effective
Parenting, the most widely used parenting education program in the country. Improving
parent-child relationships is the focus of small-group discussions between parents of
similar aged children. Workshop leaders help parents to learn simple, effective
parenting skills. This program also fosters mutual respect between parent and child,
increased cooperation, more effective communication, and a more responsible,
self-reliant attitude among children.
WORKSHOP GOALS are to help sharpen parent skills so
that they can: raise children who are happy, healthy, confident and cooperative; form
strong, life-long family relationships; to help children grow into responsible
adults; and develop loving and lovable children.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED include: understanding the
meaning of your child's behavior and how to respond to it; encouraging your child as
a way of building self-esteem; communicating effectively with your child; helping
children cooperate and problem solve; learning discipline that makes sense and works
to instill self-discipline.
